Nestled on six green acres in the coastal community of Encinitas just five miles north of the San Diego city limit, Grauer serves students from the surrounding communities as well as international students. The Grauer Foundation for Education is a not-for-profit organization governed by a Board of Trustees. Job Summary Job Summary The Grauer School is a co-educational, college preparatory independent school in Encinitas, CA, enrolling approximately 160 students in grades 7-12. We specialize in developing resourceful and compassionate individuals and college candidates in a challenging, personalized setting. Our faculty is energetic and dynamic, engaging in real teaching/learning relationships with students, while doing our best to balance college preparation with expeditionary learning. In 2013, Outside Magazine named us one of the 10 Best Places to Work in the United States. We are expanding for the 2026-2027 school year and are looking to hire a Humanities teacher. This position will include teaching middle and high school World History and Geography as well as leading and chaperoning students on expeditions. This could be a full-time or part-time position. This is an in-person, on-campus teaching position. Teaching candidates should demonstrate teaching experience--a commitment to student-centered secondary education, a passion for Socratic teaching, and an extensive knowledge of their subject matter.
