Schedule:
Approximately 1.5-2 hours per session on Saturdays and/or Sundays between 10:00 AM and 3:00PM Position Overview:
APEX Global Academy is seeking an enthusiastic and knowledgeable AP Macroeconomics & AP Microeconomics Teacher to teach in-person classes at our Derby, CT campus. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in economics and experience supporting high school students in advanced coursework such as AP Macroeconomics and AP Microeconomics. This role focuses on helping students develop a solid understanding of economic principles, strengthen analytical thinking, and prepare for school exams and the AP exams.Key Responsibilities:
Teach small-group classes in AP Macroeconomics and/or AP Microeconomics. Help students understand key economic concepts such as supply and demand, market structures, elasticity, fiscal policy, monetary policy, GDP, inflation, and unemployment. Support students with coursework, practice problems, and AP exam preparation. Develop structured lesson plans aligned with the AP curriculum. Monitor student progress and provide feedback to students and APEX staff. Encourage critical thinking and the application of economic principles to real-world scenarios.Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Economics, Business, Education, or a related field. Prior experience teaching AP Economics or advanced high school economics preferred. Strong understanding of AP Macroeconomics and/or AP Microeconomics curriculum. Excellent communication and organizational skills. Passion for helping students succeed in challenging academic courses.Compensation and Schedule:
$30- 35 per teaching hour Classes are scheduled on weekends between 10:00 AM and 3:00 PM, with each session lasting approximately 1.
