In Person Position Summary Potential Christian Academy is seeking a dedicated and mission-minded Middle School Social Studies Teacher for the 2026-2027 school year. This teacher will serve middle school students, helping them grow academically, spiritually, and personally within a warm, Christ-centered school community. At PCA, teachers are more than instructors — they are mentors, encouragers, and partners in the spiritual and academic development of students. The ideal candidate will help students develop a strong understanding of history, geography, government, culture, and the world around them while encouraging critical thinking, thoughtful discussion, and a biblical worldview. Responsibilities The Middle School Social Studies Teacher will: Teach middle school social studies courses, which may include history, civics, government, and related social sciences. Develop engaging, meaningful lesson plans that encourage critical thinking, thoughtful discussion, and real-world application. Help students understand historical events, cultures, societies, and current issues through a biblical worldview. Create a classroom environment where students feel known, supported, challenged, and encouraged. Integrate biblical principles naturally into instruction and classroom culture. Assess student progress through assignments, tests, projects, discussions, and classroom participation. Maintain accurate records of grades and student performance. Establish and maintain clear expectations for behavior, effort, and academic performance. Foster a positive, respectful, and disciplined classroom environment. Communicate regularly and professionally with parents and school administration regarding student progress. Collaborate with fellow teachers and school leadership to support student success. Participate in faculty meetings, school events, chapel services, and other activities that strengthen the PCA community. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in History, Social Studies, Education, or a related field required. Teaching experience at the middle school or high school level preferred. Florida teaching certification preferred or willingness/ability to obtain certification. Strong classroom management, communication, and organizational skills. Ability to engage students in meaningful discussion and critical thinking. A heart for students and a commitment to Christian education. Pay:
$43,770.08 - $56,325.25 per year
