Atlanta, GA Job Details 12 hours ago Qualifications Student-centered approaches (student motivation techniques) Full Job Description The Oglethorpe University Core Program is seeking adjunct instructors to teach Oglethorpe's unique Core 101: Narratives of the Self class during the Fall 2026 semester. Our Core Narratives of the Self course is an exciting approach to general education first-year writing and introduction to literary studies through the themes of self and identity. Students in this course strengthen their analytical reading, writing, and critical thinking skills while reading ancient to Medieval literature and philosophical texts. Course sections enroll no more than 16 students, so the learning environment is ideal for one-on-one faculty-student interactions and for implementing innovative pedagogical strategies. Successful applicants must be interested in progressive, student-centered models of literary studies and writing composition education. Applicants will be expected to foster an inclusive learning environment by engaging in and promoting diverse teaching, learning, and mentoring communities. Teaching assignments will be based on instructor experience, areas of expertise, and availability. Course sections meet 3 hours/week (either three 60-minute sessions or two 90-minute sessions). Compensation:
Compensation will be determined based on the number of credit hours taught. $3300/lecture course (4 credit hours)
Starting and Ending Dates:
New Faculty Orientation and Faculty Retreat are the week of August 18. The semester runs from August 24 to December 4, with final exams in the following week. Final grades for the semester are due on Tuesday, December 15.
