Lecturer applicant pool for Academic Year 2026-2027. Positions are part-time, temporary (as needed), non-tenure-track and contingent upon student enrollment, position availability and funding. Must be available to teach courses during the day, evening, weekend, on and off campus. Selectee is required to complete a New Lecturer (Field Supervisor) Orientation in the first year, pass a criminal background check and Title IX Training. Duties and Responsibilities The University of Hawaii at Hilo School of Education seeks field supervisors to provide support in the performance and assessment of teacher candidates currently enrolled in a state approved teacher preparation program. Supervisors serve as instructional resources for teacher candidates during student teaching as well and act as liaisons between the School of Education and the K-12 public, private, and charter school field sites. Coordinate observation lists for teacher candidates at K-12 school sites. Build collaborative relationships with school administrators, mentors, and staff at K-12 school sites to assist with field placement coordination. Supervise, mentor, and evaluate students in field-based settings. Conduct conferences with teacher candidates and cooperating teachers throughout student teaching. Provide supplemental pedagogical instruction on lesson planning, implementation and assessment, student interaction and classroom management, and other professional responsibilities. Provide service to the School of Education, university, and broader community. Minimum Qualifications Earned master's degree in education, or equivalent combination of graduate education (i.e. state or national post baccalaureate) and experience. Five (5) or more years of successful K-12 classroom teaching experience as teacher of record. Knowledge of INTASC Model Core Teaching Standards and K-12 National and State Content Standards. Evidence of teacher leadership experiences (grade level or department, school, complex, district level) Experience working with diverse P-20 student populations in K-12 and/or university settings. Desirable Qualifications Successful experience teaching in the Hawaii K-12 system as teacher of record Knowledge of Hawaii Teacher Performance Standards and Hawaii Content Performance Standards Successful experience mentoring and evaluating teacher candidates/teachers in the Hawaii K-12 system Successful experience with school or university partnerships related to teacher preparation and/or professional development including clinical supervision and/or teachingTo Apply:
