POSITION SUMMARY
The Visual Arts teacher is a highly qualified and state certified teacher responsible for delivering visual arts content in a differentiated manner that is aligned with state standards and district expectations.
DUTIES:
Qualified teaching candidates will provide instruction, support and guidance, manage the learning process and focus on individual needs. The teacher is well-versed in the maintenance and care of classroom equipment, and supplies, including the documentation of inventory and student materials. The teacher candidate will be an effective classroom manager, supervising students at all times Able to collaborate with other staff members, and work actively with parents as well as other community partners. Use a variety of teaching strategies to engage students along with a consistent plan for student growth of concepts in addition to the creation of artworks. Integrates cross-curricular content and connections to increase student engagement and academic achievement Plans and implements student work exhibitions throughout the school year, as well as participates in scheduled community celebrations and competitions as they become available.
Qualifications & Requirements:
Licensed and highly qualified in the area of Visual Arts Applicants must not have had a recommendation for Probation Assistance on their most recent evaluation. Participate in professional development/ professional learning communities
Education & Experience:
Completion of a Bachelor's degree in Visual Arts Experience in creating and exhibiting artwork Experience working with students in an educational environment
Technical & Functional Competencies:
Able to provide transportation to and from work as well as events off-site Able to lift and move supplies and equipment (50 lbs or less) Required Abilities Use of educational technology, including Powerschool, Google Docs/Sheets, email and more Highly organized
