Aug 24, 2026 Job Description Revere High School is seeking a highly qualified Special Education History Teacher. We are seeking teachers who are passionate and dedicated to bringing the curriculum to life for each student. Duties & Responsibilities:
Prepare and deliver lesson plans with the ability to modify accordingly during the school year Work directly with all school staff members Differentiate instruction to meet the needs of all students Maintain accurate and complete records of students' progress and development Facilitate Team meetings, IEP progress monitoring and reporting and other Special Education required regulations Utilize research-based best practices in daily planning and classroom instruction Manage student behavior in the classroom Create a positive classroom environment to support learning for all students Utilize school approved curricula that reflects the diverse educational, cultural, and linguistic backgrounds of the students Implement school-wide culture expectations and norms Communicate and meet with caregivers regarding the academic and social-emotional growth of their child Incorporate technology skills into daily classroom practice to support learning Participate in the planning and implementation of non-instructional activities, as needed Collaborate and communicate effectively with colleagues Perform other duties as assigned by the Principal or Superintendent
Qualifications:
Minimum of a Bachelor's degree in education or related field; Master's degree preferred Valid Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education licensure in Teacher of Students with Moderate Disabilities (Grades 5-12), History/Social Science (Grades 5-12) SEI Endorsement High level of comfort working in a growth-focused coaching environment based on frequent observations, debriefs, action planning, and progress monitoring Excellent written and verbal communication skills Excellent computer/technology skills with the ability to utilize various computer software and app programs Committed to the vision of high expectations for achievement, equal access to high levels of instruction, the achievement of academic and linguistic proficiency for all students, and the closing of the opportunity gap A self-reflective, active learner capable of interactive dialogue with all members of the school community Ability to properly manage confidential information Able to supervise students of various ages in different school settings (playground, cafeteria, etc.) Outstanding interpersonal skills, cultural sensitivity and respect for others with the ability to establish rapport with and relate to students, caregivers, and coworkers with respect, compassion, tact and understanding Strong commitment to equity, inclusion, diversity, and anti-racist practices Please upload ELAR information to SchoolSpring application.
