Job Description
The ideal candidate will:
- design and deliver engaging, social studies and ELA instruction for Grades 5-8 aligned to the MA State Frameworks
- establish a classroom environment and routines that encourage and strengthen a strong, positive Catholic culture throughout the school
- set ambitious, measurable, and realistic goals for students
- adapt teaching methods and instructional materials to meet the varying needs and interests of students
- collaborate with colleagues
- maintain active communication with students' families about academic and social progress
- perform other duties as deemed appropriate by the principal
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree required; Master's Degree preferred
MA Department of Elementary and Secondary Education Licensure, Certification Area:
Social Studies (5-8)- ability to plan and deliver effective instruction
- a desire to promote the Catholic mission of the school and foster the spiritual development of students
- knowledge of varied assessments and data-based instruction
- experience integrating technology into the learning environment
- ability to cultivate positive relationships with colleagues, students, parents, and families
- willingness to involve oneself with the school community beyond the classroom
- superior verbal and written communication skills
