HISTORY TEACHER
Full-time Position 2026 - 2027 School Year In a world starving for Truth, Father Gabriel Richard High School (FGR) strives to deliver academic excellence in an authentically Catholic community. This position will teach a few sections of Economics in 2026-2027 school year as the school transitions to the Catholic Liberal Arts curriculum. This position will eventually teach Western Civilization and/or American History courses.
Job Description:
Teach an integrated humanities curriculum with a passion for Western Civilization, American History, the Declaration of Independence, and the U.S. Constitution to eager young minds. Instill in students a love for history. Open students' hearts, minds, and souls to all that is good, beautiful, and true through the teaching of History. Use creative and varied pedagogical techniques to create a fun, ordered, and fruitful learning environment. Work collaboratively with the instructional leader and members of the history department to leverage best practices and build a passion for history at the school. Participate in other co-curricular activities. Serve as a faculty mentor to one of FGR's House Groups. Be ready to support the mission of the school with other duties as assigned. And naturally, prepare lesson plans; take attendance; give assignments and tests; grade student participation and performance; discipline students; and meet with students and parents as needed to discuss any issues.
Necessary Skills and Experience:
Bachelor's in in History or similar; M.A. in History, Education Minimum of two years' experience teaching HistoryEnglish at the high school level preferred. Proven ability to manage a classroom of 20+ students. Skilled at developing and delivering lesson plans that engage students and lead to high academic achievement. Passionate about forming intentional disciples of Jesus Christ. Critical Qualities Intentional disciple of Jesus Christ who evidences values, integrity, and ethics consistent with the Catholic faith and Fr. Gabriel Richard High School; Professional in demeanor; Winsome personality, with a natural ability to connect with people and move them to action; Exceptionally high level of honesty and integrity; Self-starter with tons of initiative and follow through; Sustained positive attitude; and Highly organized and detail oriented.
