Job Summary:

Manistee Area Public Schools is seeking a dynamic, student-centered Social Studies Teacher certified to teach grades 6-12. We are looking for an educator who is passionate about helping students understand the world around them, develop critical thinking skills, and engage in meaningful inquiry-based learning. •​

Required:

○​ Valid Michigan Teaching Certificate with a Social Studies endorsement (RX or CX required). •​

Recommended:

○​ Strong knowledge of Michigan Academic Standards for Social Studies. ○​ Ability to build positive relationships with middle and high school learners. ○​ Commitment to culturally responsive teaching practices. ○​ Strong classroom management and communication skills. ○​ Familiarity with the PLC framework for collaborative instructional planning. ○​ Experience integrating technology to enhance instruction for student learning. ○​ Develop engaging lessons that promote inquiry, discussion, and critical thinking. ○​ Use a variety of instructional strategies to meet diverse learner needs. ○​ Assess and monitor student progress, providing timely feedback. ○​ Collaborate with colleagues, interventionists, and support staff to support student success. ○​ Communicate regularly with parents/guardians and participate in schoolwide initiatives. ○​ Uphold the mission and values of Manistee Middle High School.
