Collaborative team environment with instructional coaching and support. Duties and Responsibilities Create a classroom environment that is engaging, structured, and conducive to learning. Deliver rigorous Social Studies instruction aligned to North Carolina state standards for 7th and 8th grade scholars. Foster critical thinking by engaging students in the study of history, geography, civics, economics, and current events. Utilize a variety of instructional strategies, primary source documents, technology, and project-based learning opportunities to enhance student engagement. Analyze and use student data to inform instruction and drive academic growth. Differentiate instruction to meet the needs of all learners, including students with IEPs, 504 plans, and English Learners. Establish and maintain strong classroom management systems that support a positive learning environment. Collaborate with grade-level teams, intervention staff, and administration to support student achievement. Communicate regularly with families regarding student progress, academic performance, and classroom expectations. Participate in professional development, staff meetings, school events, and other duties as assigned. Qualifications Hold a valid North Carolina teaching license in Social Studies or meet alternative certification requirements. Demonstrate strong knowledge of middle school Social Studies content and instructional best practices. Ability to build positive relationships with students, families, and colleagues. Strong classroom management and organizational skills. Commitment to high expectations and student achievement. Experience working with middle school students preferred. Preferred Characteristics Passion for helping scholars develop a deeper understanding of history, government, citizenship, and global perspectives. Ability to make Social Studies relevant and engaging through real-world connections. Growth mindset and willingness to continuously improve instructional practices.
