Job Description

Great Bay Charter School (GBCS) is a public charter school located in Exeter, New Hampshire. We specialize in a project-based, individualized learning approach. Our community values strong relationships, student agency, and authentic assessment over traditional testing. Position Overview We are looking for an educator who does more than lecture. The ideal candidate creates active, student-centered learning experiences that connect history and civics to the modern world. You will guide students to think critically, analyze diverse sources, and communicate effectively. The ideal candidate should hold a valid New Hampshire or reciprocal state teaching certification in the area of social studies or be open to achieving teaching certification.
Key Responsibilities Design Project-Based Curricula:
Create engaging, inquiry-based units in world history, US history, civics, and economics.
Personalize Instruction:
Differentiate lessons to support a wide range of learning styles, needs, and abilities.
Facilitate Active Learning:
Lead discussions, simulations, and project workshops rather than relying on traditional lectures.
Assess Authentically:
Evaluate student growth through portfolios, presentations, and competency-based metrics.
Foster Community:
Act as a student advisor to support academic, social, and emotional growth.
Collaborate Daily:
