Building Principal and Supervisor of Social Studies Job Purpose :
To ensure students are taught social studies in accordance with New Jersey Student Learning Standards (NJSLS).
Qualifications-Required:
NJ Social Studies Teacher Certification (Standard, CEAS, CE) Knowledge of the NJ Student Learning Standards for Social Studies Ability to differentiate instruction Ability to integrate technology effectively in instructional practices Ability to write and follow lesson plans Ability to speak English clearly and accurately Ability to make learning relevant to students Ability to implement the use of technology for instruction Ability to assess student level of learning Ability to motivate and relate to students Strong classroom management Excellent communication, oral, and written skills Ability to pass the Criminal History Review Ability to pass the Sexual Misconduct Child Abuse Disclosure Ability to pass pre-employment physical exam
Qualifications-Desired:
2-3 years of experience teaching secondary students Familiarity with Charlotte Danielson's Framework for Teaching Experience working in
PLC's Duties/Responsibilities:
Creates and follows weekly lesson plans Establishes classroom rules and procedures Demonstrates best practices in classroom instruction Communicates with students and parents Creates and modifies student assessments as needed Demonstrates and includes differentiated instructions in lesson plans Utilizes technology in teaching strategies Inputs student grades using online software on a regular basis Engages students in rigorous learning experiences Allows for student-driven learning
Working Conditions:
School Building Classroom 10-Month Contract Salary range of $60,141 (BA, Step 1) to $104,512 (DOC, Step 13) Medical and Dental Benefits Membership in Teacher's Pension and Annuity Fund (TPAF)
