Roc Urban Teaching Fellows

Under the direction of a certified co-teaching mentor, complete a full school year of clinical experience in an RCSD classroom as part of a supervised program leading to teacher certification. Must be enrolled in a teacher residency Master's degree program leading to initial certification at one of the following

• College of Education New York University
• Steinhart School of Education University of Rochester
• Warner School of Education

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Co-teach with School Based Teacher Educator up to 80% of time, while serving school building in other educational roles (substitute teaching, providing academic intervention support, or other duties as determined by building administration) the remaining 20% of time Implement small

• and large-group instruction in collaboration with a certified co-teaching mentor using a gradual release of responsibility model Implement instructional and social-support activities in accordance with the established curriculum and NYS learning standards Attend regular staff meetings, trainings, workshops, and collaboration time in order to plan, develop, and evaluate learning activities and gain experience in a school environment Gather, prepared lesson plans and other resources in order to conduct learning activities Assist students in developing and applying strategies and technologies for accessing knowledge and information Work with teachers to establish and maintain standards for appropriate student behavior Evaluate student work based on guidelines and parameters established by the teacher Assist with maintenance of confidential files/records as requested Plan and participate in parent meetings Serve as a positive role model to inspire and motivate students

EVALUATION

Performance of this job will be evaluated in conjunction with the IHE's supervision and evaluation procedures.
