Back to Jobs Group 4th & 5th Grade English Language Arts and Social Studies Teacher Clock Full Time Cross St. Ann School at Communion of Saints Parish Fill 1100 Cleveland Heights, OH 4th & 5th Grade English Language Arts & Social Studies Teacher Saint Ann School | Cleveland Heights, Ohio Full-Time | 2026-2027 School Year Position Summary Saint Ann School is seeking a dynamic, faith-filled, and student-centered 4th- and 5th-Grade English Language Arts and Social Studies Teacher to join its faculty. The successful candidate will provide engaging, rigorous, and differentiated instruction in English Language Arts and Social Studies while serving as the 5th grade homeroom teacher . As a Teacher-Minister, this individual will support Saint Ann School's Catholic mission by integrating faith into daily instruction, modeling Christian values, and fostering the academic, spiritual, social, and emotional growth of every student. Saint Ann School serves a diverse community and seeks to foster lifelong learners and witnesses to the Gospel through faith, service, and scholarship . Essential Responsibilities Instruction & Classroom Environment Teach 4th- and 5th-grade English Language Arts and Social Studies. Serve as the 5th-grade homeroom teacher. Develop rigorous, engaging, and differentiated lessons that meet the needs of diverse learners. Establish a positive, respectful, and faith-filled classroom culture. Build strong and supportive teacher-student relationships. Use evidence-based literacy practices and instructional strategies to develop critical thinking, creativity, and effective communication. Integrate technology to enhance instruction and student learning. Implement appropriate accommodations and modifications for students with varying learning needs. Maintain effective classroom management that promotes responsibility, independence, and respect. Maintain accurate records of student achievement, attendance, assessments, and family communication. Catholic Mission & Student Formation Support and promote the Catholic identity, mission, and traditions of Saint Ann School. Integrate Catholic faith and Christian values into daily instruction and classroom life. Foster students' academic, spiritual, social, and emotional development. Participate in school Masses, prayer services, retreats, and other faith-based activities. Model Christian values and a commitment to service and scholarship. Collaboration & School Community Develop positive relationships with students, families, colleagues, and administrators. Collaborate with teachers and school leadership to support student success. Communicate effectively with families regarding student progress and needs. Participate in extracurricular activities, school events, committees, and other community initiatives. Contribute to a culture of continuous professional growth and reflection. Perform additional duties as assigned by the principal. Qualifications Required Valid Ohio teaching license in one of the following: Middle Childhood Education, Grades 4-9, with an English Language Arts concentration K-8 license Early Childhood Education, PK-3, with a Grades 4-5 endorsement Strong background in English Language Arts instruction. Excellent communication and collaboration skills. Effective classroom management abilities. Commitment to meeting the academic and developmental needs of diverse learners. Preferred Experience teaching upper elementary or middle school students. Familiarity with differentiated instruction. Knowledge of evidence-based literacy practices. Experience using educational technology. Practicing Catholic or willingness to support and uphold the mission and teachings of the Catholic Church.
