Job Description

Job Summary Faith Islamic Academy is seeking a passionate and student-centered educator to teach English Language Arts (ELA) and Social Studies to students in Grades 3 and 4. The successful candidate will create an engaging, standards-aligned classroom environment that promotes literacy, critical thinking, communication skills, historical understanding, and civic responsibility. Responsibilities Instruction Plan and deliver engaging lessons aligned with the Ohio Learning Standards for English Language Arts and Social Studies. Differentiate instruction to meet the diverse learning needs of students. Develop students' reading comprehension, vocabulary, writing, speaking, and listening skills. Teach concepts related to history, geography, government, economics, and civic participation. Incorporate technology, collaborative learning, and hands-on activities into instruction. Classroom Environment Establish a positive, respectful, and well-managed classroom. Promote curiosity, creativity, perseverance, and independent thinking. Implement effective classroom management strategies that support student success. Foster a safe and inclusive learning environment for all students. Assessment & Student Support Monitor student progress through ongoing and cumulative assessments. Use assessment data to guide instructional decisions and interventions. Maintain accurate student records and grades. Provide timely, constructive feedback to students and parents. Participate in student support and intervention planning as needed. Collaboration Work collaboratively with grade-level teams, tutors, and school leadership. Participate in professional learning communities, staff meetings, and school events. Communicate regularly with parents and guardians regarding student progress and classroom activities. Professional Responsibilities Maintain compliance with all applicable school policies and Ohio educational requirements. Participate in required professional development activities. Maintain confidentiality and professional ethics. Perform additional duties as assigned by the Principal. Qualifications Required Proficient use of the English language: grammar, punctuation, diction, and fluency. Bachelor's degree in Education or a related field. Valid Ohio educator license appropriate for elementary instruction. Knowledge of Ohio Learning Standards for English Language Arts and Social Studies. Strong classroom management, communication, and organizational skills. Successful completion of all required criminal background checks. Preferred Experience teaching elementary Language Arts and/or Social Studies. Experience with data-driven instruction and intervention strategies. Experience integrating educational technology into classroom instruction. Reading endorsement or literacy specialization.
