Category Schools - General Education Teacher Job Type Contract Step into an engaging role guiding high school students through Social Studies curriculum in a supportive onsite environment near Media, PA. This full-time contract opportunity runs from August 24, 2026, through June 10, 2027, offering 35 hours per week with a traditional school day schedule (8:30 AM-4 PM). With a high school caseload, your expertise will shape student understanding and foster a dynamic learning atmosphere.
Key Qualifications:
Demonstrated command of Social Studies content and instructional strategies for general education Active teaching certification/licensure appropriate for assigned caseload Eligibility to obtain an emergency teaching permit (bachelor's degree required) Previous experience teaching in schools, with preference for those comfortable in urban environments Proven ability to manage classrooms effectively, including strong behavioral management skills Skilled in developing and implementing lesson plans aligned to state and district standards, incorporating differentiation and formative assessments Ability to work onsite without scheduling accommodations; must have reliable transportation Completion of all required Pennsylvania clearances prior to the start date
Primary Responsibilities:
Deliver engaging Social Studies instruction to high school students, adapting lessons to meet diverse learning needs Use relevant resource materials and current standards to guide lesson creation and classroom activities Employ a range of assessment tools to inform instruction and support student progress Foster a supportive, well-managed classroom environment conducive to learning and growth Collaborate with colleagues and school staff to support student success This position requires a commitment to onsite work during standard school hours, with the opportunity to interview conveniently via Zoom.
