School Year Position Description:
The Teacher is responsible for designing and implementing the instruction program for the students and subjects assigned to them in a college prep environment that is distinctly focused on leading students in living a Christ-like lifestyle. He/She must provide Christ-centered, biblically-based, spiritual leadership to all aspects of the role. Job Responsibilities Provide Biblical integration within instruction and classroom Set clear behavioral expectations that promote a positive classroom environment Manage discipline system for students Supervise and engage students in the learning process Obtain a working knowledge of the applicable TEKS from Texas Education Agency Assist administration in writing curriculum guides based on TEKS for subjects taught Write and update course curriculum guides as needed Engage students in using technology within subject areas when appropriate Create lesson plans for subjects taught with clear objectives and TEKS Create a grading system (either rubric or clearly defined expectations) Maintain grades for all class levels in RenWeb Keep accurate records of attendance, tardies, lunch counts, etc. Communicate with parents regarding positive successes, failing grades, misbehavior, etc. Praying with students and make devotional presentations to teachers/students as needed
Supervisory Responsibilities:
K-12 Students and assigned duty stations for drop off/pick up procedures
ACTABS Requirements:
Candidate must: Have a Bachelor's degree with 24 semester hours in subject areas taught (or 12 semester hours if taught Part Time) or willingness to pursue the needed semester hours to become compliant with this requirement Elementary teachers must have 24 semester hours of elementary course work Be passionate about education and the spiritual development of students Possess experience working with a reputation of excellence
Preferred Qualifications:
Candidate's preferred qualifications include: Have a Bachelor's degree in Education (alternative certification is acceptable if semester hour requirement is met) Three of more years of teaching at the assigned grade level Appropriate certification in the subject areas taught or willingness to pursue these requirements
