Part-time, school-year position About Us St. Anthony Academy is a small, independent classical Catholic school serving students in Pre-K through 8th grade in Fairfax, Virginia. Our mission is to cultivate wisdom and virtue through a rigorous classical education rooted in the Catholic intellectual tradition. Position Summary We are seeking a knowledgeable and enthusiastic Latin teacher to join our faculty on a part-time basis. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in Latin, a love for teaching, and an appreciation for classical education. The Latin teacher will provide instruction to upper elementary and middle school students using the Memoria Press Latin curriculum as the foundation of instruction while bringing creativity, engagement, and subject-matter expertise to the classroom.

Qualifications Required:

At least two years of college-level Latin coursework Strong written and spoken English skills Ability to manage a classroom effectively and maintain a positive learning environment Willingness to use the Memoria Press curriculum as the basis for instruction Ability to pass a background check

Preferred:

Bachelor's degree in Classics, Latin, Education, Theology, History, or a related field Teaching experience in a classroom setting Familiarity with classical education Familiarity with the Catholic intellectual tradition Responsibilities Teach Latin to students in grades 4-8 Prepare lessons, quizzes, and assessments aligned with the curriculum Foster student engagement through recitation, grammar instruction, translation, and memorization Communicate effectively with school administration and families as needed Maintain accurate attendance and grade records Benefits Flexible part-time schedule Small class sizes Supportive faculty and administration Opportunity to contribute to a growing classical Catholic school Competitive hourly compensation
