Teaching :
Creating a learning environment that facilitates students' acquisition of knowledge and skills in a subject.Teaching encompasses four components:
Instructional Design, Instructional Delivery, Instructional Effectiveness, and Instructional Expertise. 2.Scholarly and Creative Engagement:
Engage in scholarly and/or creative activity, which may include conference attendance and presentation, professional organizations participation, academic coursework, scholarly research and publications, and grant activity. 3.Institutional Responsibility:
Performing assigned or presumed duties according to one's role at the college. These activities support and advance both the mission of the VCCS and the college to enhance the effective functioning of the college.These responsibilities include:
participate in the college's development and evaluation plan for part-time teaching faculty; participate in required department, committee and college meetings, adhere to college and VCCS policies, perform assigned duties, and maintain a collegial working relationship with faculty and staff. 4.Service :
Quality participation and commitment to students, college and/or community organizations, which in an expectation of One's activities as a professional educator. Activities in this domain are differentiated college representation, college citizenship, and community development. Special Assignments May be required to perform other duties as assigned. May be required to assist the agency or state government generally in the event of an emergency declaration by the Governor. KSA's/Required Qualifications High School Diploma or equivalent; Associate's or equivalent in Welding (as noted in the VCCS- 29) 5 years of related work experience Additional Considerations College Teaching Experience Ability to effectively communicate via email and telephone Ability to use Microsoft Word and related software.
