Job Description
General Statement of Duties The Board Substitute Teacher provides classroom instruction and maintains a productive learning environment in the absence of the regular classroom teacher. This role ensures continuity of instruction, supports student learning, and upholds school policies and expectations across K-12 grade levels. Essential Duties Deliver instructional lessons and activities according to the regular teacher's lesson plans. Maintain a safe, orderly, and respectful classroom environment. Manage classroom behavior in accordance with school and district policies. Take accurate attendance and complete required classroom documentation. Adapt teaching methods to meet the developmental, academic, and social needs of students. Provide clear instructions and support to students during class activities and assignments. Communicate effectively with school staff regarding student progress, concerns, or incidents. Supervise students during instructional time, transitions, and assigned duties (e.g., lunch, recess, hallway). Follow emergency procedures and school safety protocols as required. Leave detailed notes for the regular teacher regarding lesson completion, student behavior, and any issues encountered. Additional Information
