Job Description
General Statement of Duties Demonstrates the ability to effectively plan, organize, and deliver instruction that meets the diverse needs of individual students and groups, aligned with state guidelines and division curriculum. Possesses strong knowledge of learning theory and instructional best practices. Consistently acts in the best interests of students and models professional, ethical behavior in all interactions. Essential Duties Plan and implement instructional activities for all students, demonstrating knowledge of subject matter and aligning instruction with Virginia Standards of Learning, district curriculum, and in collaboration with the classroom teacher Use school and division data to inform and guide instructional planning Employ a variety of assessment tools to monitor student progress and adjust instruction to meet individual and group needs Establish and maintain a positive, structured, and well-managed classroom environment that supports learning Maintain accurate records of student performance and attendance; communicate progress effectively with students, teachers, and families Utilize diverse instructional materials and strategies to engage learners and address varying needs Collaborate and communicate with staff, including classroom teachers, special education staff, gifted education staff, administrators, and volunteers, to support student achievement Stay current with educational trends, research, and best practices to enhance instructional effectiveness Interact professionally with students, parents, colleagues, and community members at all times Integrate and model the appropriate use of technology to support teaching and learning Perform other duties as assigned Regular attendance is required.
