The Department of Music at California State University San Marcos seeks a part-time lecturer for Fall 2026 to teach VPA 321: Learning Through the Arts.
Salary is commensurate with credentials and experience.
Course Description
This course seeks to develop the student both personally and professionally, recognizing the inter-relationship between these two elements in art instruction. Three areas of focus include introducing arts experiences to children, integrating arts into classroom content, and providing a framework for the (elementary) student to experience the process of art. This course satisfies the Liberal Studies requirement for work in Studio Arts.
Minimum qualifications:
A master's degree in music Higher Education Teaching Experience

Preferred qualifications:
A doctorate degree in area of discipline
Preference will be given to applicants who demonstrate intercultural competence and a commitment to serving our campus community as it relates to teaching and, as applicable, service.
Salary commensurate with degree level and experience
Anticipated Hiring Salary Range:
$5,507
- $8,000 per full-time month

AY:
$5,507- $6,677 per full-time month
CSU Classification Salary Range Lecturer B
AY:
$6,221- $13,224 per full-time month
The anticipated hiring range is generally at or near the minimum of the appropriate range, commensurate with education and experience.
