Job Description

The Challenge and The Opportunity Are you a revolutionary educator? What does "breaking down the walls between learning and life" mean to you? Revolution School is a small independent high school in Philadelphia with a dynamic opportunity for the right individual. We aim to spark curiosity and build authentic, engaging, and equitable connections — to the places we learn, the people who surround us, and the ideas that inform and inspire us. We are breaking down the traditional physical walls of a classroom — and certain (but not all!) aspects of the traditional model of high school education, including schedules, grades, and siloed classes. Our innovation is in supporting mastery of durable, future-ready competencies alongside core knowledge and foundational skills, through real world, complex, hands-on experience. As a Revolution School educator, you will join our start-up culture, where everyone pitches in, works together, practices conscious leadership, and learns from our shared successes and failures. You will play a vital role in expanding our program and must be comfortable with true collaboration and iterative design — continually improving the learning experiences we deliver. History Faculty will support our mission by designing inquiry-driven learning experiences that connect past and present, center multiple perspectives, and prepare students for informed, ethical participation in the world. • Deliver the history curriculum for grades 9 through 12, assessing skills and providing a spectrum of learning opportunities. Courses could include Civics, World Religions, Revolutions, US History, Law, Sociology, Philosophy, and Modern Global History.

  • Design culturally responsive, inquiry-based projects grounded in historical thinking.
  • Support data collection and evaluation to ensure outcomes are well-measured, meeting student needs and our program expectations, and reported in a way that drives growth.
  • Serve as an advisor supporting academic growth and belonging.
