Job Description
Visiting Lecturer in Modern Hebrew (Fall 2026) Brown University - Program in Judaic Studies The Program in Judaic Studies atBrown University invites applications for a Visiting Lecturer in Modern Hebrew Language for the Fall 2026 semester. The successfulcandidate will teach three in-person courses in the Modern Hebrew language sequence: Elementary Modern Hebrew (HEBR 100), IntermediateModern Hebrew (HEBR 300), and Advanced Speaking and Writing Hebrew (HEBR 500). To ensure curricular continuity, syllabi and instructionalmaterials for these courses will be provided. The lecturer will be expected to implement an established communicative, proficiency-orientedcurriculum emphasizing the development of advanced reading and writing skills and Hebrew language literacy. Qualifications Applicants must hold a Master's degree or higher in Hebrew, Hebrew language pedagogy, or a closely related field.
Native or near-native proficiency in Modern Hebrew is required. Preference will be given to candidates with demonstrated experience teachingHebrew at the college or university level.
