Position Description The Department of World Languages and Literatures at Texas State University invites applications for a Lecturer position in Spanish with a focus on writing, composition, technical writing, language, Spanish in professional contexts, and culture.
Nontenured faculty are appointed to teach one to four courses per semester. Teaching appointments are based upon student demand on a semester-by-semester basis. Eligibility for annual reappointment is contingent upon satisfactory annual performance evaluations during the term period, in addition to continuity of funding and departmental need. The successful candidate will teach at the San Marcos campus and may teach at the Round Rock campus and/or online, depending on the need of the Department.
All positions are subject to availability of funds.
Required Qualifications Ph.D or ABD in Spanish, Spanish Linguistics, Applied Linguistics, or a comparable field in hand by August 1st 2025.
Native or near-native command of Spanish and English.
Demonstrated teaching experience in Spanish at the university level.
Applicants should have a strong commitment to teaching, and collegial service.
Preferred Qualifications Experience in teaching Spanish language, writing, composition, technical writing, Spanish in professional contexts, and culture.
