Teaching Staff Part-time Lecturer (several posts) in Cantonese Stream in the Chinese Language Centre of the School of Chinese (Ref.: 536290) The Chinese Language Centre has a solid reputation of excellence in language teaching and offers a wide variety of Cantonese and Putonghua courses for learners from diverse academic, professional and social backgrounds. We now invite applications for the captioned post. Duties and Responsibilities The appointee will be required to: take up substantial teaching responsibilities for courses related to Chinese language education in the Cantonese Steam; develop course curriculum, teaching and assessment materials; carry out duties in relation to student and academic administration; and support and perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements The appointee should possess:

a University degree and Master's degree or equivalent in Chinese language and literature, teaching Chinese as a second language, linguistics, or another relevant field; relevant teaching experience (normally 3 years' post-qualification experience at tertiary level); the ability to design and deliver new courses as well as to employ second language pedagogy. What We Offer The appointment will be made on a temporary hourly-paid basis for 1 year, to commence as soon as possible with the possibility of renewal subject to performance and funding availability.
