Trinidad State College, located in Trinidad, Colorado, is a state-supported, two-year institution of higher education. The College was established by an act of the State Legislature in 1925, and is the oldest public two-year college in the State of Colorado. The College's Service Area includes eight rural counties characterized by low population density and small communities. One campus is located in Trinidad and is a residential campus while the other, located in Alamosa, is a commuter campus. Both campuses serve distinct populations. As a comprehensive Community College, Trinidad State College not only offers ongoing transfer Associate of Arts Degree and Associate of Applied Science (vocational) Degree programs but also has developed and implemented numerous successful short-term vocational certificate programs, and totally inclusive adult education and developmental programs.Job Summary:
Trinidad State College seeks a highly motivated, student-centered Library Coordinator to lead library services and resources in support of student success, teaching, learning, research, and community engagement. The Library Coordinator is responsible for acquiring, organizing, maintaining, and promoting library collections and services while providing information literacy instruction, research assistance, and technology support to students, faculty, staff, and community members. The Library Coordinator collaborates with faculty and staff to integrate information literacy into academic programs, manages physical and digital resources, oversees library operations, and contributes to institutional initiatives that advance student learning, retention, completion, and lifelong learning.Duties & Responsibilities:
Library Operations and Resource Management- Coordinate the day-to-day operation of the college library.
- Acquire, organize, catalog, maintain, and distribute library resources and collections.
- Manage print, digital, and electronic resources to ensure accessibility and relevance.
- Oversee circulation functions, resource sharing, and collection maintenance activities.
- Conduct ongoing collection evaluation and inventory management.
- Monitor library budgets and make recommendations regarding resource acquisition and replacement.
- Maintain library policies, procedures, and operational documentation. Student and Faculty Support
- Provide research assistance and reference services to students, faculty, staff, and community users.
- Assist users in locating, evaluating, and utilizing information resources effectively.
- Collaborate with faculty to support course assignments, research activities, and instructional needs.
- Support academic programs through resource development and instructional collaboration.
- Develop and deliver information literacy and research skills workshops, presentations, and training sessions. Technology and Digital Resources
- Coordinate with Information Technology personnel to ensure effective delivery of library technologies and electronic resources.
- Manage library databases, electronic subscriptions, and digital learning resources.
- Assist students and faculty in accessing and utilizing online information resources.
- Support implementation of emerging technologies that enhance library services and student learning.
- Maintain accurate user access and library system records. Student Success and Community Engagement
- Promote library services through outreach activities, events, workshops, and campus programming.
- Participate in recruitment, retention, and student engagement initiatives.
- Foster an inclusive and welcoming learning environment that supports diverse student populations.
- Engage with community organizations, educational partners, and regional stakeholders to promote library services and lifelong learning opportunities.
- Support special projects and institutional initiatives aligned with student success and strategic priorities. Assessment and Continuous Improvement
- Collect and analyze library usage and assessment data.
- Prepare reports and recommendations regarding library operations, services, and resource needs.
- Participate in institutional accreditation, strategic planning, program review, and assessment activities.
- Identify opportunities for continuous improvement in library services and learning resources.
- Stay informed regarding best practices and emerging trends in academic librarianship and educational technology. Professional Responsibilities
- Maintain current knowledge of library services, instructional technologies, digital resources, and higher education trends.
- Serve on college committees and participate in shared governance activities.
- Attend departmental, division, and college meetings as required.
- Demonstrate professionalism and strong customer service in all interactions.

Competencies/KSAs:
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Library Science, Education, Information Science, Communications, Humanities, Business, or a related field.
- Experience providing customer service, instructional support, research assistance, or information management services.
- Demonstrated proficiency with computer applications, databases, and digital information resources.
- Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively with students, faculty, staff, and community members from diverse backgrounds.
- Commitment to student success and lifelong learning.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master's degree in Library and Information Science (MLIS) or a related field.
- Academic library experience.
- Experience with integrated library systems and electronic resource management.
- Experience teaching information literacy or providing instructional support.
- Experience supervising staff or student employees.
- Experience supporting online learners and distance education programs.
- Experience working in a community college environment.
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) communication skills.
