Job Description
Inspire a Community. Lead a Library. Palm Harbor Community Services Agency (PHCSA) is seeking an experienced, visionary, and community-focused leader to serve as the next Director of Palm Harbor Library . The Director provides strategic leadership for all aspects of library operations, including public services, programming, collections, budgeting, facilities, technology, community engagement, and staff development. Reporting directly to the PHCSA Board of Directors, the Director plays a vital role in shaping the future of one of Pinellas County's premier public libraries while ensuring exceptional service to the Palm Harbor community and the Pinellas Public Library Cooperative service area. This is an exciting opportunity for an innovative leader who is passionate about libraries, public service, organizational excellence, and building strong community partnerships. Key Responsibilities Provide strategic leadership and vision for library operations and future growth. Develop and implement the library's strategic plan, annual goals, policies, and procedures. Lead and mentor a talented management team and library staff. Prepare and manage the annual operating budget while pursuing grants, donations, sponsorships, and other funding opportunities. Oversee library services, collections, programming, marketing, technology, facilities, and customer service. Serve as the library's primary representative with community organizations, elected officials, civic groups, and professional library organizations. Foster strong relationships with the Friends of the Library, Library Endowment Foundation, Advisory Council, PHCSA leadership, and community stakeholders. Ensure compliance with all applicable local, state, and federal regulations. Promote innovation while maintaining exceptional service to library patrons. Minimum Qualifications Master's Degree in Library Science (MLS/MLIS) from an American Library Association (ALA) accredited program. Demonstrated success in strategic planning, budgeting, personnel management, and community engagement. Strong communication, organizational, and leadership skills.
