Job Description
Job Summary We are seeking a dynamic and faith-filled Librarian/Media Specialist to join our school team for the 2026-2027 school year. In this role, you will foster a love of reading, support information literacy, and enhance students' educational experiences. Your enthusiasm for literacy, technology, and student engagement will create a welcoming and supportive learning environment for all learners. Responsibilities Curate and maintain a diverse collection of print resources, ensuring easy access and proper cataloging using an integrated library system. Provide instruction on research skills, information literacy, and the effective use of library resources to students across grade levels. Collaborate with teachers to integrate learning technology and media resources into classroom instruction, supporting curriculum goals. Manage classroom activities related to literacy education, behavior management, and student engagement during library sessions. Oversee the organization of media center activities, including records maintenance, circulation processes, and digital resource management. Support classroom management by fostering a positive environment that encourages curiosity, inquiry, and responsible use of media tools. Requirements Experience working with children in educational settings, demonstrating strong classroom management skills. Knowledge of cataloging systems, records maintenance, and experience with an integrated library system (ILS). Familiarity with educational technology integration, digital resource management, and learning technology tools. Strong communication skills to collaborate effectively with teachers, students, parents, and staff. Strong organizational skills necessary for managing multiple tasks. Classroom experience that demonstrates the ability to engage students in literacy education while maintaining a positive learning environment.
