Job Description

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
Maintain, organize, and catalog the law library collection, including books, legal materials, serials, and audiovisual resources. Assist inmates/detainees in locating, requesting, and using legal and educational materials. Supervise inmates/detainees during library access to ensure safety, security, and compliance with facility rules. Enforce library policies, procedures, and schedules in accordance with facility guidelines. Coordinate and support library programs and services. Evaluate requests and select appropriate materials based on legal needs and individual considerations. Acquire and maintain relevant library resources to ensure accessibility and availability. Provide general guidance on library materials and resources. Provide assistive resources for disabled or bedridden inmates and promote appropriate behavior through supervision and intervention. Maintain accountability of inmates/detainees and library property, and perform other duties as assigned.
Required Knowledge Skills/Abilities:
Strong verbal and written communication skills. Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Effective time management skills with the ability to meet deadlines. Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-stress correctional environment. Working knowledge of correctional policies and procedures, with the ability to follow and enforce them. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
Education and Experience:
High school diploma or equivalent required. Minimum of six (6) months related experience required; two (2) years preferred. Valid driver's license required.
