Job Description

The Summer Faculty Librarian is responsible for supporting the work associated with the Summer Residency. They will be supported in their role by the program leader, Senior Faculty member and the Summer Residency Faculty. They will be expected to perform the following duties and responsibilities: Meet with fellows to help create source lists for their initial research When appropriate pull sources for fellows needing extra help in their research. Help fellows access sources that might be harder to obtain through simple searches. Mid-way through the summer, the librarian will meet with each fellow and help to revising source lists to suit their evolving topics and help students construct their final bibliography. Work collaboratively to create any materials necessary to instruct fellows on the use of citations and bibliographies Read and offer feedback on final drafts of citations and bibliographies Attend in-person meetings of the fellowship where library instruction might be necessary. Create a workshop or self directed model for Whipple applicants to find topics that they might be interested in exploring for the summer to include in their application. Attend the summer retreat & final presentation of papers
