Job Description
COMPENSATION
Per the Collective Bargaining Agreement located on the DY website . All internal applicants who are interested in this position should apply within ten days of this posting. Additional information regarding fingerprinting including scheduling an appointment may be found on our website .ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
include the following. Other duties may be assigned. Library Media Center Management Develop and manage the school library media center collection Manage library technology resources and digital learning platforms Curate and maintain a diverse, inclusive, and age-appropriate library collection Manage library budgets and resources Instructional Responsibilities Deliver weekly direct instruction to students in Kindergarten through Grade 3 Teach 45-minute library and information literacy classes for each grade level Develop and implement an age-appropriate curriculum that fosters a love of reading, digital citizenship, and research proficiency, while also incorporating a foundational Computer Science unit aligned with Massachusetts Digital Literacy and Computer Science (DLCS) standardsQUALIFICATIONS
Massachusetts School Library Media Specialist Initial or Professional License (All Levels) Valid Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (DESE) certification Strong understanding of early childhood and elementary educational practices Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with educators and students Citizenship, residency or work visa requiredPRIMARY JOB CONTACT
