Job Description

Job Overview The City of Three Forks and the Three Forks Community Library Board are seeking a motivated, organized, and community-focused professional to serve as our next Library Director. This position performs a combination of administrative, technical, and public service duties essential to the successful operation of the library, 607 S. Main Street in Three Forks, MT. The ideal candidate will possess strong organizational skills, the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment, and a commitment to excellent public service. Work involves frequent interaction with the public, library staff, board members, and partner agencies, as well as the ability to manage multiple responsibilities simultaneously with frequent interruptions. This position requires supervisory experience and excellent organizational skills, the ability to understand and comply with various regulations governing libraries as a governmental agency, in addition to knowledge of computers, program development, and community outreach. Responsibilities This position requires supervisory experience and good organizational skills, in addition to knowledge of standard library practices and procedures, computers, budgeting and accounting, program development, and community outreach. Requirements This directorship requires a Montana Library Association certification within four years. Wage ranges from $18.00 - 21.00/hour, dependent upon experience. The City provides excellent benefits including vacation, sick and holiday pay, and retirement; this position includes 100% city-paid health and dental benefits for the employee only, vision benefits are available at the employee's expense. Closing date is July 31, 2026 but posted until filled.
