Lebanon Job Overview:
Lebanon Middle School seeks a dynamic and student-centered Library Media Specialist to lead our school library program. This role is essential in fostering a love of reading, teaching information literacy, and supporting both students and staff in effectively using print and digital resources. The Library Media Specialist creates an engaging and welcoming learning environment while collaborating with teachers and paraeducators to integrate literacy, research skills, and technology into the curriculum across all grade levels (5th through 8th). - Teach library and information literacy skills to students
- Supervise a library paraeducator
- Guide students in developing research and inquiry skills
- Select, order, catalog, and maintain a diverse and inclusive collection of print and digital resources
- Ensure materials support curriculum needs and student interests
- Partner with classroom teachers to plan and support instruction
- Provide resources and co-teach lessons that align with curriculum goals
- Teach digital citizenship, online safety, and responsible technology use
- Support students and staff in using databases, research tools, and educational technology
- Manage the library budget and resource allocation
- Oversee scheduling, circulation, and daily library operations
- Maintain an organized, accessible, and welcoming library space
- Promote reading for enjoyment and lifelong learning
- Develop and manage reading initiatives and incentive programs
Job Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in literature or related field.
- Master's degree in literature is a plus.
- Library Media Specialist, NH Certification (0036).
- 3 years of prior experience preferred.
