Job Description

Located about 30 miles south of Albuquerque in rural Valencia County, the University of New Mexico-Valencia Campus is a two-year branch campus of the University of New Mexico which functions as a community college in the region and is designated a Hispanic Serving Institution. With an emphasis on teaching excellence, Valencia Campus offers academic transfer programs, career and technical programs, Adult Basic Education, and Dual Credit High School/College courses to Valencia and Socorro Counties. The faculty and staff serve a student body of approximately 2,000 students per semester. Conditions of Employment Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's degree; at least 3 years of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified. Completed degree(s) from an accredited institution that are above the minimum education requirement may be substituted for experience on a year for year basis.Preferred Qualifications Preferred Qualifications:
Demonstrated skill in the use of databases and Library Management Systems. Experience working with under-prepared students and awareness of the library's role in facilitating student success in a community college. Experience providing public service and reference support in an academic library setting. A demonstrated commitment to cultivate an understanding of the rich and varied cultures of New Mexico and to the success of the university's mission to serve local and global communities. Experience in library instruction, outreach, or staff/student employee training.
