Librarian-Media Specialist Rio Rancho Public Schools - 3.6 Rio Rancho, NM Job Details Full-time 8 hours ago Qualifications Bachelor's degree Professional Educator License Full Job Description This job posting is for the 2026-2027 school year Lincoln Middle School 190-day contract
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited college or university; and Current New Mexico Department of Education license with a library/media endorsement.
Skills/Aptitudes:
Effective organizational ability; professional written and oral communication skills; ability to maintain high level of professionalism and confidentiality regarding students, staff, parents, and school matters, detail oriented, and analytical skills.
Essential Job Responsibilities:
Establishes and implements reading incentive programs. Instructs students in library skills. Instructs teachers in teaching research skills. Establishes and implements policies for circulation of books, materials, and equipment. Determines class schedules for library usage. Accountable for books, materials, and equipment, including purchase and inventory. Builds collection of media equipment for library. Solicits and records requests and recommendations from teachers regarding materials for annual purchase Provides curriculum support for teachers Re-shelves material returned from circulation Performs cafeteria, playground, and other school duties as assigned. Plans activities and projects for library assistants and parent volunteers. Sets up and operates audiovisual equipment, including overhead projects, Smart Boards, projection units, television/monitors, computers, video cameras, etc.; and Performs other job duties as assigned.
Work Hours:
Work hours are established in employment contract. Additional work hours may be assigned by the School Principal within the parameters of the current Collective Bargaining Agreement.
