Falvey Library Position Summary:
The Theology Librarian contributes to development and delivery of strategic, high quality, virtual and in-person services to advance teaching, learning, research, and scholarship. Responsible for outreach, education, research support and library resources in the theology and religious studies department, the classics program, and others as assigned as a member of the Library's Research Services & Scholarly Engagement Department. Participates in a collaborative model of general research support. Villanova is a Catholic university sponsored by the Augustinian Order. Duties and Responsibilities:
Resource and Service Development
- Designs, delivers, and evolves innovative library services to advance research and scholarship. Works collaboratively to steward collections in assigned areas through selection, assessment, and deselection to support the changing academic needs of scholars. Instruction
- In collaboration with faculty, plans and conducts student-centered information literacy instruction aligned with curricular goals and objectives. Creates instructional resources to facilitate student and faculty research. Research Support
- Provides research consultations in assigned area(s) for faculty and students. Participates in collaborative model of general research support. Outreach and Communication
- Develops and maintains collaborative relationships with faculty, students, and staff. Implements an active engaging outreach program to ensure awareness of library services among faculty, students, and staff in assigned areas.
