Position Purpose The Research Impact & Open Scholarship Librarian provides expert guidance, consultation, and strategic support on the dissemination, impact, and responsible use of Dartmouth research and scholarship. This position supports evolving funder public access requirements, copyright and author rights, and emerging practices in open scholarship, helping to ensure that Dartmouth research, scholarship, and creative outputs are shared effectively, ethically, and in alignment with institutional and external expectations. Working collaboratively with researchsupporting teams across the Libraries and campus partners, the Research Impact & Open Scholarship Librarian engages faculty, students, and staff on issues related to research publishing, visibility, and scholarly infrastructure, and contributes to campus understanding and use of bibliometric and research output data. The position assesses campus needs, monitors the rapidly changing policy and publishing landscape, and develops guidance, education, and resources to support researchers throughout the research lifecycle, providing advanced consultation and institutional perspective in coordination with the Libraries' research facilitation services. This is a hybrid work location eligible position. Description Required Qualifications Education and Yrs Exp Masters or equivalent combination of education and experience
Required Qualifications Skills, Knowledge and Abilities Graduate or professional degree in a relevant field.
5 years experience with research impact, scholarly communication, copyright, and/or publishing in a collaborative, complex environment.
3 years experience with education and outreach activities to a campus community
Experience evaluating needs of faculty, students and staff in the areas of scholarly publishing, open access, open education, open data, and copyright.
Knowledge of current copyright practices, laws and guidelines.
Knowledge of current scholarly publishing trends, tools and data sources.
Excellent interpersonal, communication, teaching, and organizational skills
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a wide variety of smallgroup and team environments
Demonstrated capacity to foster and manage change in a fastpaced environment.
Willingness to learn new analysis tools or other relevant tools as needed
Commitment to professional growth and development Preferred Qualifications Advanced degree (Ph.D. or equivalent) in a relevant academic discipline; and/or Master's degree in Library Science or related field.
Demonstrated ability to initiate, plan, coordinate, implement, and assess complex programs, projects, and services.
3 years experience supervising and mentoring staff
Experience with preparing data for analysis, visualization, and other procedures, using standard software and tools (Python, R, etc.)
