This role is responsible for delivering high-quality legal, business, and regulatory research services, monitoring developments across industries and practice areas, and providing training on research tools and resources. The Research Librarian will collaborate closely with legal and administrative teams while supporting library operations, resource management, and knowledge-sharing initiatives.

San Francisco, CA Work Arrangement:
Hybrid (3 days in office) Key Responsibilities Conduct legal, business, competitive intelligence, legislative, regulatory, and docket research for attorneys and firm departments. Provide research support to Client Development, Conflicts/New Business, Paralegals, Secretarial teams, and Attorney Administration functions. Monitor news, litigation, regulatory, and legislative developments, and assist with alerts, newsletters, and research updates. Support the maintenance and enhancement of intranet research resources and knowledge repositories. Deliver training and orientation sessions on research platforms, library services, and information resources. Partner with Innovation and Knowledge Management teams to develop training materials and user guides. Evaluate and test new research tools, databases, and information services. Maintain expertise in library resources, document delivery services, interlibrary loans, and industry research platforms. Accurately bill research time to client matters when appropriate. Qualifications Bachelor's degree required. MLS or MLIS from an ALA-accredited institution preferred; equivalent research-focused education and experience may be considered. Legal research experience required. 1-3 years of library, research, or information services experience preferred. Prior law firm experience preferred. Intellectual Property (IP) research experience preferred. Strong knowledge of legal and business research resources, search methodologies, and database functionality. Experience with platforms such as Lexis, Westlaw, Bloomberg Law, PACER, Courthouse News, PitchBook, and S&P Capital IQ. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Excellent analytical, organizational, communication, and multitasking skills. Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively across teams. The anticipated base salary range for this position is:
Chicago:
$92,000•$126,610
Los Angeles:
$98,400•$135,300
San Francisco:
$105,000•$144,584 Compensation will be commensurate with experience, skills, and qualifications. A comprehensive benefits package and bonus opportunity may also be available based on position eligibility.
