Overview
Auburn University Libraries is seeking applicants for a Student Assistant position in the Library of Architecture, Design, and Construction (LADC).
This role supports faculty, staff, and students by contributing to daily operations, delivering reliable customer service, maintaining organized collections, and helping foster a welcoming and functional library environment. Student assistants may work up to 20 hours per week, based on operational needs. The LADC is a branch of Auburn University Libraries that supports the research, teaching, and learning needs of the College of Architecture, Design, and Construction. It also serves professionals in related fields and members of the broader community.

Responsibilities
Support daily service desk operations to ensure efficient and consistent workflows
Provide courteous assistance to patrons (in person and virtually), including answering basic questions, facilitating circulation transactions, and guiding general library use
Accurately reshelve materials and perform routine shelf-reading to maintain an organized and accessible collection
Apply library systems, policies, and procedures to complete tasks accurately and consistently
Assist patrons with library equipment such as computers, printers, and scanners; refer complex issues to appropriate staff
Record patron interactions in LibAnswers to support service tracking and continuous improvement
Assist with Interlibrary Loan (ILL) processes, including scanning and preparing requested materials
Complete opening and closing procedures to ensure the facility is secure and ready for use
Demonstrate reliability, professionalism, and clear communication while remaining responsive to supervisory guidance
Provide team support, including shift coverage and adapting to evolving service needs
