Job Goal:
Perform a variety of clerical services in the library.
Minimum Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent preferred Ability to operate standard office equipment, including all Microsoft Office and Google programs Satisfactory criminal background check Vision and hearing are adequate to exercise job responsibilities in a safe manner
Core Job Functions:
Perform a wide variety of clerical tasks, including typing, filing, coding, and preparing reports Check books in and out of the library Maintain a variety of records and files Input data into the computer Shelve books and make minor repairs Operate the library and AV equipment Collect fines for lost books under the supervision of the Media Specialist Prepare bulletin boards and displays as needed Train in library software Assist with library collection inventory as needed Assist students with book selection and technology assistance Be flexible and perform other duties relating to the general job function as assigned by the supervisor Accept responsibility for students' well-being and safety while they are in the employee's care Be alert to and report the possibility of any substance use, child abuse, or dangerous situation based upon daily observation Operating and caring for school districts' equipment properly Follow district policies as outlined Perform all duties safely and prudently as directed by supervisors

Physical Requirements:
Positions in this classification often require physical activities such as stooping, kneeling, crouching, standing, walking, and sitting. The job involves finger or manual dexterity, repetitive finger motion, speaking, hearing, seeing (with correction), and focusing ability. Employees may be exposed to travel, odors, dust, poor ventilation, workspace restrictions, and loud noises. The work may require lifting or exerting up to 40 pounds of force occasionally and up to 10 pounds of force frequently.
