Job Description

Assists in providing all library services and clerical services.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
These requirements are a representation of the types of duties and responsibilities that will be required of positions given this title and shall not be construed as an exhaustive list of specific duties and responsibilities. Management may direct employees to perform job-related tasks other than those specifically presented in this description. Ensures the completion of routine clerical and library procedures and prepares correspondence. Uses library software and other technological tools to enter data, create reports, and retrieve information. Maintains library files and prepares data for reports. Prepares orders for library materials and supplies and maintains and tracks inventory. Assists with the library budget, processes purchase orders and invoices, and receives shipments. Assists in training of other clerical staff and supervision and training of student assistants. Provides library assistance to students, staff, faculty, and public patrons. Assists with the training and oversight of student worker assignments. Performs other duties as assigned. e.g., May facilitate the use of audiovisual (AV) materials and equipment.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS / QUALIFICATIONS
Standard high school diploma or
GED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES
Ability to provide customer service to students, faculty, staff, and members of the public. Ability to communicate effectively with students, staff, faculty, and members of the public. Ability to use automated purchasing and budgeting system. Experience with Microsoft applications, computers, and online searching. Ability to organize, prioritize, multi-task, and problem-solve effectively. Ability to learn and utilize computer equipment, software, and new technologies in performance of day-to-day work. Ability to work a flexible schedule, potentially including evening and/or weekend hours.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Associate degree or above from a regionally accredited institute. Library skills and experience or education in the library and audiovisual field. Experience with automated purchasing and budgeting system. All required application material must be uploaded via the online application system.
