The University of North Georgia is accepting applications for a Library Associate- Access Services. This position will provide circulation and access services to the students, faculty, staff, and visitors of the University of North Georgia's Cumming Campus library. Responsibilities include processing loaned and borrowed materials, coordinating the cleaning and organization of print collections, maintenance of collection, processing requests for facilities and technology, and assisting the library marketing committee with outreach efforts. Occasional travel between campuses required. General schedule is Monday-Friday, 8am-5pm. The position reports to the Head of Access Services. Occasional night and weekend work is required.

If you have any questions regarding the visa policy, please contact Monica Arrendale at (706) 867-4470. Assists students, faculty, staff, and community patrons in person, telephone, email, and chat. Provides check-in and check-out of library material and basic information about library and university services. Resolves patron account inquires and makes referrals as appropriate.
Assist the library marketing committee with outreach requests. Manage the planning and installation of displays to promote library services and resources. Plan and excute library outreach events targeting the Cumming campus community
Provides local processing and management of materials for resource sharing, including intercampus lending and GIL Express lending and borrowing. Communicates with patrons and lending libraries, and maintains accurate records of transactions.
Assists with opening or closing as assigned, and monitoring the safety and security of library users, library property and facility, ensuring ADA access, reporting, and resolving equipment and building problems.
Represents the library at local campus events and programs as needed. Serve on local committees as requested.
Other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
Knowledge of productivity software (Word, Excel, etc.). Knowledge of automated systems including integrated library systems (Alma), Banner etc. Strong oral and written communication skills; excellent interpersonal skills. Positive, customer-focus in a learning environment. Excellent problem-solving skills. Excellent technology troubleshooting skills. Ability to exercise initiative and good judgment as a team member. Ability to multi-task and prioritize duties. Must be able to stand for long periods, push/pull book trucks up to 100 lbs. max, lift up to 25 pounds.
Associate degree or equivalent number of college hours
Two years library, front desk/assistant, or retail/sales associate experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience
