About the
Position:
Join The Canvas, the library's hands-on makerspace dedicated to fostering creativity, innovation, and learning. We're seeking a highly organized, detail-oriented Makerspace Assistant to support our patrons and keep our space running smoothly. In this role, you'll provide expert guidance on our equipment, maintain a well-stocked, clean, and welcoming environment, troubleshoot equipment, and serve as our go-to 3D printing specialist.
Responsibilities Include:
Instructing patrons on the use of makerspace equipment through one-on-one instruction and responding to drop-in questions. Maintaining a well-stocked, organized, and clean makerspace by managing inventory, organizing tools and materials, restocking supplies, and ensuring cleanliness and ease of use for patrons and staff. Managing 3D print files and overseeing patron print jobs from submission through completion. Assisting patrons with media lab technology, software, and digital tools related to our equipment. Assisting with maker programs and activities. Staying current on the latest technology trends and equipment in makerspaces, including emerging technologies. Performing repairs and general maintenance of equipment.
Minimum Qualifications:
High school diploma. Proficiency with makerspace equipment. Two years of library experience or retail customer service experience. Available to work evenings and weekends.
Hours:
Full-Time:
37.5 hours/week
Schedule:
Monday 11-7, Tuesday 9-5, Wednesday 9-5, Friday 11-7 and Three Saturdays a Month 9-5.
Salary:
Starting $35,100 - $38,513
