1. 2 years of college experience; or 2. A 2-year college degree; or 3. Passed the ParaPro Assessment within 1 year of employment; or 4. One year or 1,000 hours of previous employment experience in a school or other setting in a position that supported student academic instruction; or 5. Completed 48 credit hours of college level classes 6. Experience with Special Education Instruction PreferredREPORTS TO
Building Level AdministratorPERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Instruct and guide students in the use of the media center and electronic resources. 2. Encourage independent and recreational reading. 3. Organize materials for accessibility and provide reference services. 4. Meet periodically with the Media Aide Coordinator or District Coordinator to facilitate articulation and coordination of district-wide media services. 5. Cover the office as needed. 6. Assist in the purchasing of books, magazines, and other media resources for media centers. 7. Coordinate effective scheduling of the media center. 8. Assist in reviewing and evaluating materials to support the educational programs. 9. Assist in acquiring necessary curriculum materials. 10. Perform other duties as requested by the principal. 11. Collaborate with teachers to select appropriate and high interest reading materials for students. 12. Coordinate special school-wide programs designed to promote reading. 13. Act as a point person for technology concerns at the building level.BENEFITS
This is a non-PERF paying position, base starting rate $14.05, paid time off, 180 days, 6.5 hours per dayEVALUATION
