Student Office Assistant University of Kansas - 4.2 Lawrence, KS Job Details Full-time $11 an hour 22 hours ago Qualifications Microsoft Outlook Administrative experience Clerical experience Full Job Description Position Overview The Student Office Assistant for the departments of East Asian Languages & Cultures, French, Francophone & Italian Studies, German Studies, and Slavic and Eurasian Languages & Literatures (SEAFIG) provides administrative support and serves as a backup to full-time administrative staff. The ideal candidate is a motivated student seeking long-term employment and hands-on experience in a fast-paced office environment. Job Description 70% - Office Support Answer phones and greet visitors in a professional and friendly manner Make photocopies, scan documents, and assist with general clerical tasks Sort and distribute mail Maintain clean, organized, and welcoming public spaces Perform other administrative duties as assigned 30% - Event Support & Promotion Create and post updates on social media platforms (e.g., Facebook, Instagram) and assist with departmental website updates Capture photos and videos at events, including some evening and occasional weekend activities Update digital signage and refresh promotional materials around campus Provide logistical and on-site support for key departmental events Required Qualifications Previous experience working in an office or in clerical/administrative support, as indicated in application materials. Excellent communication skills, as indicated in application materials. Experience using Microsoft Office products (Outlook, Word), as indicated in application materials. Experience with social media like Facebook, Instagram, etc., as indicated in application materials. Preferred Qualifications Interest in foreign language studies, as indicated in application materials. Familiarity with Adobe Creative Suite, as indicated in application materials. Position Requirements During the semester term of the appointment, the student hourly must be enrolled in no fewer than 6 credit hours. For summer periods the student hourly must: (1) have been enrolled in no less than 6 hours in the past spring semester or (2) be pre-enrolled in the upcoming fall semester in no less than 6 hours or (3) be enrolled in summer session or (4) be admitted to study in the upcoming fall semester.
