Job Description
Teen Services Assistant, Charlton Public Library (Charlton)
The Town of Charlton seeks to fill a part-time (19-hour) position. Under the general direction of the Head of Youth Services,
the Teen Services Assistant will create a welcoming environment for teens that supports an enjoyable and enriching
experience of the library and its resources. Plans and presents engaging programs for fifth grade through high school age
groups: may also work collaboratively with other library departments. Qualifications
Requires a bachelor's degree and minimum of 2 years' experience working with youth services in a public library;
or any combination of relevant education and experience.
Knowledge of teen literature and current trends.
Proficiency with computers and digital devices; fluency with computer software, including integrated library
systems; fluency with internet and social media platforms; experience with design and creation of promotional
materials.
Ability to set priorities and complete projects independently.
Ability to collaborate and work as a member of a team.
Strong customer service skills; creative problem-solving skills; excellent oral and written communication skills.
