Job Description

Library Technician, Hingham Public Library (Hingham)
The Hingham Public Library seeks a friendly, welcoming, and energetic individual and team-player who has a commitment to providing excellent customer service to all library visitors of all ages, including children, teens, and adults, and who is comfortable working with and learning new technologies. The individual will work in various library departments including the Children's, Circulation, and Technology Departments. Duties involve working at service desks; providing information and assistance to Library patrons; circulating library materials; processing reports; packing/unpacking inter library deliveries; and shelving. Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
A candidate for this position should have a minimum of a High School diploma and two (2) years of related experience, preferably in a public library setting with an automated circulation system. Skills using technology are desired. Must be detailed oriented, capable of multi-tasking, and willing to work as part of a team. Demonstrated customer service skills in a library or retail setting preferred.
Schedule averages 12 hours/week, includes daytime, evening, and rotating Saturday and Sunday shifts as scheduled, and is subject to change throughout the year. Full/Part Time
