Essential Responsibilities
Morning Supervision of students in cafe from 7:15- 7:35
Supervise library use after school from 2:25-3:15.
Monitor student behavior and maintain a welcoming, safe, and productive learning environment for middle and high school students during individual visits, study halls, and class visits to the library.
Manage daily circulation desk duties, including checking materials in and out, processing hold requests, verifying account inquiries, and preparing materials for interlibrary loan.
Shelve returned materials accurately according to the library organizational setup and perform regular shelf reading to keep collections organized.
Complete standard processing for new acquisitions (stamping, applying spine labels, barcode placement, protective covers).
Assist students and staff with basic technology troubleshooting (e.g., Chromebooks/laptops, printers, Wi-Fi connectivity, online catalog searching, password resets).
Answer incoming phone calls, respond to general library email inquiries, and route complex requests to the School Librarian.
Maintain physical appearance and layout of the library, including flexible seating arrangements, study areas, and collaborative workspaces.
Support the School Librarian during class instruction by gathering requested resource carts, preparing instructional materials, or assisting students with research databases.
Help design and maintain engaging, inclusive library displays, bulletin boards, and reading promotional materials tailored to middle and high school reading interests.
Other duties as assigned by supervisor.
Qualifications & Essential Skills Include:
Required Education:
HS Diploma, Associates degree preferred
Working knowledge of audio-visual equipment, printers, and computers.
Knowledge of information/library classification systems
Proficiency with library management software (e.g., Follett Destiny), Microsoft Office/Google Workspace, and digital research databases, preferred
Strong verbal and written communication skills; ability to present a positive and professional image to library users and community members
Ability to multitask, prioritize competing demands, and maintain composure in a fast-paced environment
HOURS PER WEEK
Hours 37.5
COMPENSATION:
Per Unit C contract - $21.00 - $25.50
